TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - A crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian closed down eastbound River Road at Craycroft Road overnight.
According to Sgt. Matt Alexander of the Tucson Police Department, the pedestrian who was hit was a man who had been crossing River east of Craycroft, and was not in a crosswalk.
The vehicle that hit him was heading east on River. According to TPD, the driver did not see the man crossing until it was too late.
He is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to TPD. The man was non-responsive when emergency crews arrived.
There are no signs of impairment and the driver remained at the scene to speak with investigators.
