Tucson ranks #83 on list of best cities for keeping New Year’s resolutions
The Wallet Hub has ranked Tucson as one of the best cities for singles

TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Turns out it isn't easy to keep those New Year's resolutions in Tucson, according to WalletHub.

The Old Pueblo ranked #83 on a list of 182 U.S. cities for keeping resolutions. In order to determine the rankings WalletHub used the following metrics from gyms per capita to income growth to employment outlook.

The highest ranking Arizona city was Scottdale, at #2 on the list, with the remaining Arizona cities as follows: 23 Chandler; 29 Tempe; 40 Phoenix; 44 Gilbert; 45 Peoria;64 Mesa; 85 Glendale.

According to WalletHub, estimates of the resolution failure rate are as high as 80 percent and 92 percent, depending on the survey. Regardless of the actual figure, a high number of people will fail at some point in the process and break the usual resolutions, such as “lose weight,” “save more” and “reduce stress.”

The top ten cities were:

  4. Seattle, WA 
  5. Irvine, CA 
  6. San Jose, CA  
  7. Salt Lake City, UT 
  8. Austin, TX

The bottom 10 cities, where it is the hardest to keep those resolutions are:

  1. Laredo, TX 
  2. Charleston, WV 
  3. Augusta, GA  
  4. Huntington, WV 
  5. Jackson, MS 
  6. Detroit, MI 
  7. Fort Smith, AR 
  8. Newark, NJ  
  9. Shreveport, LA  
  10. Gulfport, MS
