TUCSON, AZ - 9th ranked Arizona defeated Central Oklahoma in a 1-0 thriller Saturday night at the Tucson Arena. The lone Wildcat goal was scored by Max Meyer in the opening period.
Goaltender Anthony Ciurro finished with 34 saves in recording his 4th shutout of the season.
The win for UA earned the Cats a split in their two-game series with the Bronchos.
The Wildcats (21-6) went 2-1 on the weekend against the Oklahoma schools and the victory allows Arizona to regain a share of first-place in the Western Collegiate Hockey League standings.
UA has seven home games remaining in the season. The next games are against Utah on Saturday, January 26 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, January 27 at 4:00 pm.
