TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - Two vehicles got stuck in the Tanque Verde Loop wash Thursday, Feb. 21, as a winter storm began hitting the area.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said a 31-year-old Tucson woman was cited after she went around a road closure sign in the morning.

KOLD News 13 was there when a van got stuck around 5 p.m. You can see the video HERE.

There is no word if the driver of the van would also be cited.

Both vehicles got stuck in sand in the wash and had to be towed out. Neither were not at risk of being carried away by water.

The crossing has been closed for several days after a storm earlier this week caused the creek to fill with runoff, according to the PCSD.
