Tucson, AZ (KOLD) - Every month has a name for its moon. In November, the moon is called the Beaver Moon from Native American tradition. That is likely either because beavers are getting actively ready for winter this month or because hunters would begin readily collecting beaver fur for warm clothing in the winter.
The moon was officially 100% full on Monday shortly after noon Tucson time. It will start waning, or getting smaller, until the New Moon is reached on the 16th of this month.
