TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) -For the first time in history, Arizona will provide the United States Capitol with a very special Christmas present.

The Capitol Christmas tree was harvested Saturday morning from the Apache-Sitegraves National Forest in the White Mountains.

A ceremony with White Mountain Apache Dancers, an Apache blessing, music and more commemorated the event.

The 85-foot Blue spruce will now travel throughout Arizona through November 19. The tour will then continue through the country and will be presented to the United States Congress on November 30, 2009.

The symbol of the holidays will be lit during a ceremony by the Speaker of the House and a child from Arizona who made an ornament for the tree.
