TUCSON, AZ (KOLD)
By Paul Birmingham - email
Tucson Fire and Rural/Metro crews were called to the Pantano Wash on Tucson's east side, after someone reported seeing people in the rushing water.
It happened at around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, near Sabino Canyon Road and the Pantano Wash.
Tucson Firefighters say it turns out the group is from out of town, and were actually kayaking in the wash.
Pima County Sheriff's Deputies also responded, but say the were not able to locate the kayakers after they floated downstream.
Tucson Firefighters say they want to remind you that entering a wash is extremely dangerous, due to the possibility of flash flooding.
