Native fish removed from Sabino Creek a few weeks ago are doing fine. They would not have survived the black sludge that came down the Catalina Mountains after a monsoon rainstorm Tuesday night. Wildlife workers and students removed one-thousand Gila Chub from the creek and placed them in tanks and pools at three different locations. An Arizona Game and Fish spokesperson told news 13 the chub are doing very well. Eventually they will be returned to Sabino Creek, but no word yet when it will be safe to do that.
