A four- year- old Phoenix boy is recovering after being attack by the family dog.
Family members said he was playing with the pit-bull-mix when the animal latched onto his face.
The boy had extensive facial reconstructive surgery.
The boy's uncle is surprised. He said the dog is usually fine around children.
The dog is in police custody.
Family members said they don't want the animal back in their home.
