The U.S. will have to tear down part of a barrier and gate it put up inside a flood tunnel in Nogales. An international commission has ruled that it's located on the mexican side of the border.. The U.S. says it was a simple mistake.
Mexico claims the concrete barrier backed up flood-waters and led to about $8-million in damage from a storm on July 12. The U.S. Border Patrol cut off about a foot and a half of the barrier after the flood, but the commission says about 7 more feet are encroaching on mexican soil.
The tunnel is used frequently by smugglers and illegal immigrants.
