TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - The Tucson Department of Transportation wants to help bicyclist be more visible at night.

Teams of volunteers will install bicycle lights Thursday, Nov. 19th from 5 to 7pm at the intersection of Third Street and Treat Avenue.

It's part of the "light the Night" campaign.

Bicycles will be equipped with a basic set of front and rear lights by volunteers from the Tucson-Pima Bicycle Advisory Committee, the Greater Arizona Bicycle Association and El Grupo Youth Cycling Center.

Lights will only be installed on bicycles without lights.

With daylight hours shrinking, the transportation department believe that this is an ideal time to remind bicyclists of the need for front and rear bike lights in low light conditions.
