In May, 18-year-old Rosaura Hernandez was killed in an apartment complex on South Craycroft Road.
Her mother April Barbosa told us Hernandez lived in the apartment with her boyfriend, Joshua Hillaire - but wanted to break up with him.
Barbosa says her daughter texted her to come pick her up, but when she got there, there was no answer at the door and she couldn't get in contact with her.
She called 911, but the Tucson Police Department wouldn’t knock down the apartment door despite her pleadings.
Ultimately, hours later, she kicked in the window to the apartment and discovered her daughter’s body.
“Nobody should ever have to do and see what we did and saw. I will never get that sight out of my mind. I will never stop feeling my daughter in my arms, her blood against me,” Barbosa said.
21-year old Joshua Hilaire is in jail, facing first degree murder charges.
He ran from the apartment the night of the murder, but ultimately turned himself in.
