TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - The crowd gathered just before 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.
Familiar faces saw each other for the first time in a year. Some smiled at each other and then gave an emotional hug. This is how the service for the January 8th memorial began at Tucson Fire Central.
At 10:10 a.m., the same time the shooting happened back on January 8, 2011. Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild rang the bell. While January 8th shooting survivor Ron Barber read the names of fellow survivors, as well as the names of the six people that were killed in the shooting. Barber says, it was the first time he had done this.
