TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) - Drivers heading eastbound on Interstate 10 between Ruthrauff and Miracle Mile will encounter restrictions beginning Saturday evening, Jan. 12, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. In order for crews to remove asphalt from the road.
Work begins Saturday and should be completed by the following Saturday, Jan. 19, with lane restrictions in place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, until work is complete.
During work both the eastbound lanes of I-10 and the frontage road will remain open.
According to ADOT this stretch of eastbound I-10 will have a concrete surface, until officials evaluate longer-term options.
Concrete pavement is common throughout the state highway system and is as safe to drive on as the rubberized asphalt being removed from the eastbound lanes.
