TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - An elderly pedestrian was killed when she was hit by a vehicle on the east side of Tucson Thursday, April 18.
Tucson Police Department spokesman Sgt. Pete Dugan said she was identified as 86-year-old Gladys Blackmarr died at Banner University Medical Center shortly after arrival.
Dugan said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment and speed do not appear tohave been factors in the crash, according to Dugan.
Officers and detectives confirmed that Blackmarr was in a marked crosswalk at the time she was hit.
The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. and eastbound traffic on East Speedway Boulevard was closed until 6 p.m.
The investigation is continuing and no arrests or citations have been issues at this time.
