TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - The Ironwood Ridge boys and Tucson girls came out on top Saturday at the Southern Arizona Track Championship at Mountain View High School.

It was an event that was missing some star power and that allowed others to emerge to the top of the podiums.

Tucson High junior Johnnie Blockburger stole the show on the boys individual side with wins in the 100, 200 and high jump. Catalina Foothills Tayvien Williams (110m and 300m hurdles), Rincon-University’s Thomas Leitner (800m and 1600m) and Ironwood Ridge’s Parker Bays (discus and shot put) were among the double winners. Canyon del Oro took a pair of boys’ relays (4x100 and 4x800).

On the girls’ side, Rincon-University’s Grace Driskill (800m and 1600m), Tucson’s Ajaysha Lewis (100m hurdles and 200m) and Mountain View’s Grace Hala’ufia (Shot put and discus) each won a pair of individual events.
