TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - Northwest Healthcare (NH) has “broken ground” on Sahuarita Medical Center—the next hospital in its “no boundaries” strategy to bring convenient healthcare to residents throughout Pima County and beyond. The groundbreaking ceremony included representatives from Pima County, the Town of Sahuarita, Rancho Sahuarita, the hospital’s Board of Trustees, and other guests.
Sahuarita Medical Center will be an 18-bed “neighborhood hospital.” The campus will also include physician offices and outpatient services and be located just southeast of I-19 and Sahuarita Road (on Rancho Sahuarita Blvd). Planned services include emergency medicine, surgery and inpatient care. The second floor of the facility will house medical offices to include primary care, cardiology, orthopedics and general surgery. We anticipate having approximately 150 staff members throughout the health campus.
Kevin Stockton, Regional President and Market CEO for Northwest Healthcare, said, “We are excited to begin this project and appreciated the support of everyone who came out to the groundbreaking to help us celebrate this milestone. We’re looking forward to serving the healthcare needs of Sahuarita residents and those in surrounding areas through this new hospital.”
Site preparation will take place over the next weeks before construction begins on the 77,000 square foot facility.
The hospital is expected to open in third quarter of 2020.
