TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - The Cardinals drafted Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
Murray won the Heisman Trophy in 2018 after leading the No. 4 Sooners to a 12-2 (8-1 Big 12) record. He ranked in the top three nationally in passing efficiency (199.2), passing yardage (4,361) and passing touchdowns (42).
If Arizona had a concrete plan on what to do with the first pick, team officials kept that information a well-guarded secret until just hours before the draft on Thursday, April 25.
The Cardinals, who drafted quarterback Josh Rosen in the first round last year, were also considering defensive ends Quinnen Williams of Alabama and Nick Bosa of Ohio State.
