Ceremony held Saturday to honor fallen officer Jesus Cordova

TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - The Nogales Police Department will hold a ceremony Saturday April 27 to remember fallen officer Jesus Cordova who was shot on duty last year.
Cordova, 44, was killed on the afternoon of April 27, 2018 after responding to a carjacking case, reported Nogales International.
The event in his behalf will begin at 10 a.m. at Jesus M. Cordova Park in front of the police department. It’s located at 777 N. Grand Ave.
Cordova’s widow Alyssa Cordova will give remarks at the ceremony followed by Officer David Lopez, Police Chief Roy Bermudez and Mayor Arturo Garino.
They will also unveil a plaque in his honor.
The opening ceremony will take place Saturday at 9 a.m. at Fleischer Park.
The Jesus M. Cordova Memorial Foundation will hold its second annual memorial softball tournament Friday, April 26 through Sunday April 28.
Proceeds from the tournament will be used to grant scholarships in his name.
