TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - A brush fire on the northwest side serves as a reminder that wildfire season has come to southern Arizona.
It broke out in the Santa Cruz River off Silverbell just south of Camino del Cerro on Friday evening.
Two engines from the Tucson Fire Department jumped on it quickly to keep it from spreading.
The dry vegetation is a big concern, along with the breezy conditions a combination that can cause flames to spread rapidly.
Firefighters got it under control quickly and it appears it may have been a homeless camp.
