TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - According to a state police report, there were 18,262 cars stolen in Arizona during 2017. Among those, some cars are more heavily targeted.
The Arizona Automobile Theft Authority listed the most-stolen cars in Arizona, determined by car theft numbers submitted by law enforcement for 2017.
The most commonly stolen vehicle in Arizona was the 2006 Chevrolet Pickup, full size.
Here is the list of the top ten most commonly stolen vehicles in Arizona.

- 1998 Honda Civic
- 2006 Ford Pickup, full size
- 1997 Honda Accord
- 2004 Dodge Truck, full size
- 2015 Nissan Altima
- 2017 GMC PickUp, full size
- 2007 Toyota Camry
- 2017 Toyota Corolla
- 1997 Nissan Sentra
The numbers show that anti-theft technology is proving effective in the newer cars by preventing auto theft.
For instance, nationally, a total of 6,707 of 1998 Honda civics were stolen compared with 388 of 2017 Honda Civics, reported National Insurance Crime Bureu.
