TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - Calling all comic book fans, Saturday May 4 is Free Comic Book Day (in addition to being Star Wars Day!).
This is one of the biggest events in the comic book industry, with 5.2 million comic books expected to be given away during this special event.
Celebrating its 18th Anniversary, comic shops will pass out comics for free, and several may also host community events like costume contests, drawings by guest artists, creator signings, raffles, door prizes, photos with costumed characters, and other community building activities throughout the day.
There are 51 free comic book titles available this year that are designed to appeal to a broad range of tastes. They include superhero stories, like Marvel’s Avengers, and Spider-Man/ Venom #1, as well as DC’s Catwoman: Under the Moon and Dear Justice League; popular kids titles such as Minecraft, The Incredibles, Star Wars Adventures, andPokémon, and TV tie-ins featuring series like Riverdale, Doctor Who, and Stranger Things.
Complete descriptions of all fifty-one FCBD titles, along with three-to-five-page previews can be found online at: https://freecomicbookday.com/catalog.
