TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - First Maryland-Baltimore County. Now the Ironwood Eagles.

16th seed Ironwood came down to Tucson Saturday and stunned top-seed Rincon-University in four sets (25-20, 29-31, 25-19, 25-22) to open the Conference 5A boys state volleyball tournament.

The Rangers (33-4) best season in program history is over just like that. The Eagles (13-11) will face Casteel in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

  • (5A) Millennium 3, Ironwood Ridge 0
  • (5A) Mountain View 3, Horizon Honors 1
  • (5A) Salpointe Catholic 3, Gilbert 0
  • (5A) Cienega 3, Catalina Foothills 1

The 3rd seed Mountain Lions (29-7) will host the 6th seed Lancers (28-7) Tuesday night. #2 seed Cienega (25-13) will also host a quarterfinal match on Tuesday. Both matches will begin at 6:30 p.m.
