TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - 14 Southern Arizona athletes came home with individual titles this past weekend at the state track and field championships.

Sahuaro’s Trayvion White-Austin and Rio Rico’s Samantha Schadler both won three individual gold medals.

Schadler, who is headed for a track career at Duke, took home titles in the 800-meter (2:17.51), 1600 (5:01.44) and 3200 (10:46.31).

White-Austin ran to championships in the 100 (10.73), 200 (21.55) and long jump (23-08.5).

Tucson’s Johnnie Blockburger was a two-time gold medalist in Division I with victories in the 200 (21.48) and 400 (48.02) events.

Blockburger finished second in the 100 (10.70) but his time bested that of White-Austin.

The two did not face each other in the Southern Arizona Championships as White-Austin did not compete that day.

As far as the team competition, Safford in Division III was the lone program to come home from Mesa with a title.

It was the 16th title for the Bulldogs in boys track and field.

Three Southern Arizona teams brought home tennis championships this past weekend.

The Catalina Foothills boys beat Notre Dame Prep to win their sixth straight Division II title. The Falcons have not lost a match since 2013.

The Catalina Foothills girls shutout Notre Dame Prep 5-0 to win their 15th state championship. All of which have come under head coach Kristie Stevens.

In Division III, the Pusch Ridge Chrisitian Academy girls won their third straight title, knocking off top seed Thatcher 5-2.
