TUCSON, AZ - No. 3 Washington spoiled sixth-ranked Arizona senior day, completing a three-game sweep of the Wildcats with a 7-4 victory on Sunday afternoon in six Wildcat seniors’ final regular season home games at Hillenbrand Stadium.
UA celebrated the careers of six seniors – Hillary Edior, Joelle Krist, Taylor McQuillin, Rylee Pierce, Gina Snyder and Tamara Statman – after the game.
The loss dropped the Wildcats two games behind first place UCLA in the Pac-12 Conference.
The Bruins will welcome Arizona next weekend with a Magic Number of one.
Arizona Baseball scored their must runs in a game since 2006 on Sunday afternoon, beating Oregon 28-7 in front of 2,484 fans at Hi Corbett Field.
The Wildcats (22-23, 10-14) pounded out 26 hits – their most in a conference game since 2006 – and completed the three-game sweep of the Ducks
UA finished the series with a record 54 runs in a three-game series Pac-10/12 three-game series.
Arizona also had 13 doubles in the win to establish a new school record for two-base hits.
Nick Quintana led the Cats with five RBI.
Arizona returns home next weekend to play USC.
