TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - Marana police have more money to keep the streets of the town safe thanks to grants totaling $85,000.
The money will be spent three ways.
Police tell us $30,000 will be used for DUI enforcement. The plan is to use the funds to reduce drug or alcohol related crashes around town.
Then $20,000 will go to traffic enforcement. This will allow officers to educate and issues citations to drivers who are speeding, driving aggressively and exhibiting any risky driving behavior.
The last $35,000 will go to DUI abatement and warrant details. Marana police say this will allow officers to conduct high profile warrant sweeps.
