TUCSON, AZ (KOLD News 13) - What began as an evening hike, quickly got out of hand late Tuesday, May 14, and turned to a technical rescue.
A man and a woman were hiking near 'A' Mountain, when the woman was injured. The pair reportedly lost their way and were stranded, so they called for help.
According to Tucson Fire Department officials, the woman told crews she thought she had been bitten by a snake, but there is no record of a confirmed snake bite. The crews found the hikers were drunk and the woman had a badly rolled ankle.
The TFD said it took less than 1 1/2 hours to get the woman to a hospital following the initial call for help.
