WATCH: Hiker rescue near Phoenix goes wrong

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Phoenix Fire Department rescued an injured hiker from Piestewa Peak on Tuesday morning.

Things did not go as planned during the rescue. The basket used to lift the woman spun uncontrollably when a rescue helicopter tried to take off.

The hiker, a 74-year-old woman, was flown to a trauma center.

It is not yet clear what sort of injuries the woman sustained or her condition at this time.
