TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - To help people take a pause with the perfect treat for National Donut Day, on Friday, June 7, every Dunkin’ Donuts location in Tucson is offering a free classic donut of their choice with the purchase of any beverage.
“This National Donut Day, we encourage Americans to take a moment to ‘Dunk Out,’ recharge and enjoy their favorite donut variety at Dunkin’,” Tony Weisman, Dunkin’ Donuts U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, said.
Dunkin’ will help fans enjoy some time in celebration of donuts with an invitation on Facebook where fans can RSVP to make a commitment to #DunkOut.
Dunkin’ partnered with Toluna, a provider of consumer insights, to conduct a survey of more than 1,000 Americans for a look at the preferences of enjoying this sweet treat.
They found that people are most likely to “Dunk Out” while checking and answering emails, watching the kids, doing personal finances or having awkward small talk with colleagues.
When it comes to sharing, 34 percent said they would share with their significant other, 32 percent chose sharing with children, and 11 percent wouldn’t share at all.
No matter how you spell it, it’s still delicious. 57 percent say it’s spelled “donut,” and 43 percent say it’s “doughnut.”
National Donut Day was originally established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.
Dunkin’ has been serving guests signature donuts for nearly 70 years.
