TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Tucson Police Department is investigating a fatal hit and run crash involving a pedestrian on Tucson's east side.

According to TPD, 55-year-old Alvin Richard Moist Jr. was struck by two vehicles at 11 p.m. on Friday, July 12 near East Broadway Boulevard and South Langley Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene they found Moist in the road, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Evidence at the scene and information gathered from officers and detectives indicated that Moist had been crossing Broadway from north to south, he was 50 yards west of the marked crosswalk at Broadway and Langley. According to TPD, it appears he was hit by a 2005 Chevy Tahoe as he was entering the eastbound lanes, then he was hit a second time by an unknown white passenger vehicle.

Both vehicles left the scene before TPD arrived. According to TPD, the driver of the Chevy Tahoe, a teenager, stopped about a mile away and then returned to the scene a short time later. The teen showed no signs or symptoms of impairment and speed does not appear to be a factor.

The TPD is still working to identify and locate the driver of the white passenger vehicle.

No charges or citations have been issued at this time and anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 88-CRIME, they can remain anonymous.
