TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Tucson Police Department identified yesterday’s carjacking suspect as 18-year-old Cesar Hidalgo.
The incident began near Park Avenue and Benson Highway, where a white pickup truck was carjacked by Hidalgo, according to an email from TPD Public Information Officer Frank Magos.
Hidalgo drove away from the scene and a Pima Community College Police Department officer saw the vehicle collide into another car near Stone Avenue and Speedway Boulevard. The officer and Hidalgo ended up on Grant Road and Stone Avenue where Hidalgo hit and damaged at least six cars before his arrest.
Hidalgo was arrested and charged with armed robbery, aggrevated assault, auto theft, felony flight resisting arrest and driving under the influence, according to Mago’s email.
