TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Incident Management Team overseeing the Molino Fire has released firefighting resources as the containment has increased to 80 percent.
As of Wednesday, Oct. 30, the final acreage of the fire has been determined to be 540 acres. Crews who have been released are being made available to assist with other fires.
Smoke may be visible over the next few days as low fire activity remains with hotspots well within the interior of the burned area of the fire. Fire resources from the Coronado National Forest will continue to patrol and monitor the fire. The public is asked to please not report this fire.
There were no reported injuries and no structures were lost, according to Incident Commander Anthony Walkosak.
The Molino Basin Campground will remain closed until Saturday, Nov. 2.
The fire sparked near milepost 4 and the Molino Basin on Sunday, Oct. 27.
Officials believe someone shooting targets caused the fire.
