TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A motorcyclist passed away from his injuries after a collision on the east side, March 22.

Police identified the motorcycle rider as 63-year-old Magdi A. Nafeh, who was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after the incident. The medical examiner notified officials of his death on March 28.

The crash happened near Pantano and Wrightstown between a SUV and a motorcycle.

According to witness interviews, Nafeh was eastbound on Wrightstown Rd. approaching the intersection at Pantano Rd. while the driver of a 2004 Ford Escape was driving westbound on Wrightstown Rd. The Ford turned left onto southbound Pantano, when Nafeh collided with the SUV in the intersection, with intent to continue eastbound.

The driver of the Ford stopped immediately and remained at the scene for the investigation. A DUI Officer determined the driver was not impaired at the time of the collision and speed does not seem to be a factor at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and no charges or citations have been issued at this time.
