TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Rescue teams with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and Rural Metro Fire helped an injured woman off a trail in Sabino Canyon this afternoon.
Deputy James T. Allerton, a spokesperson for PCSD, said the 30-year-old hiker injured her elbow and needed help off the trail. Crews were able to reach her and took her back to the trailhead.
Battalion Chief John Walk with Rural Metro Fire said the woman had minor injuries to her elbow about five minutes from the trailhead. She walked off the trail with assistance and declined transport to the hospital, Walka said in an email.
