TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Two people were killed in an east-side crash involving a motorcycle on Tuesday, June 30.

According to the Tucson Police Department, 40-year-old Brandon Vincent Cleveland and 26-year-old Abner Tovar Ortiz were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Cleveland was riding a motorcycle at a high rate of speed east on Speedway Boulevard at about 6:30 p.m. when he collided with Ortiz, who was driving north on Van Buren Avenue in a Chrysler 300.

Investigators determined through interviews and roadway evidence that Ortiz failed to yield from a stop sign. Investigators also learned that the motorcycle Cleveland was riding had been reported stolen. Police say Ortiz was not wearing a seat belt.
