Police identify man who died after being struck by Jeep
TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Police have identified a man who died after he was hit by a vehicle in midtown Tucson late Tuesday, July 21.
The Tucson Police Department said the accident happened at just before 10 p.m. in the intersection of Broadway Boulevard and Swan Road.
Police say Arturo Felipe Barrio Jr., 42, was in a crosswalk, crossing Swan against the traffic signal when he was struck by a northbound Jeep.
The driver of the Jeep stopped immediately and remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation. A DUI officer determined that the driver was not impaired at the time of the crash, and speed does not appear to be a factor.
Police continue to investigate and no charges or citations have been filed.
