TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Three people are now behind bars for trying to smuggle more than $500,000 of meth through a border checkpoint near Yuma.

The bust happened Monday, Nov. 16, 2020, after Yuma Sector agents referred a car for a secondary inspection after a working dog alerted to drugs on board, according to a news release from Customs and Border Protection. During the search, agents found five duffle bags filled with meth, weighing 152 pounds.

The three women, all from Oklahoma, were arrested and taken into custody.
