TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Another Tucson event canceled due to COVID-19. Organizers of the Gem & Jewelry Exchange have confirmed they will not be taking part of the Tucson Gem Show in February, next year.
GJX officials say they were previosuly confident that exhibitors would be moving forward with the February show, but the recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the US has forced them to take mitigating measures.
“This spike required us to reevaluate what was best for the safety of our exhibitors, buyers and staff,” said GJX CEO Allan Norville. “We employ approximately 200 employed people and the decision to cancel the show was one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make.”
Norville says the well-being and health of the public is top priority for GJX, and it looks forward to bringing back the show in 2022.
