UPDATE: Woman killed in hit-and-run on Tucson’s south side identified
The Tucson Police Department said this vehicle, possibly a pearl white 2011 Lincoln MKX, was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident on Tucson’s south side Friday, Dec. 11. TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The woman killed when she was hit by a vehicle on Tucson’s south side late Friday, Dec. 11, has been identified.

The Tucson Police Department said Heidi Mabel Hammonds, 62, and another woman were on the sidewalk when the suspect’s vehicle hit them and sped away. The other woman was seriously injured but survived.

It happened around 9 p.m. near West Ajo Way and South Valley Road.

The suspect’s vehicle is likely a pearl white 2011 Lincoln MKX. The TPD said it is missing the mirror on the passenger’s side.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
