TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Arizona Governor Doug Ducey announced Friday that State Farm Stadium in Glendale will soon be used as a COVID-19 vaccination site. State Farm Stadium is home to the Arizona Cardinals.

Phoenix residents will be able to go online and register to receive the vaccine next week, as Arizona moves into the next phase of coronavirus inoculations.

The Arizona Department of Health Services will hold a soft-launch at the site on Monday, Jan. 11 for law enforcement and other protective service workers.

It will also begin taking appointments for members in the Phase 1B group i.e. law enforcement, K-12 school staff, childcare workers and adults 75 and older.

Vaccinations for those who register will begin Tuesday.

People in the Phase 1A group will still be allowed to register to receive a vaccine, but will not have priority over the 1B group.
