TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Flowing Wells Unified School District announced Friday that its schools will continue learning remotely at least until Monday, Feb. 1st.
The district’s decision comes as the Pima County Health Department informs of high community transmission rates, and predicts COVID-19 metrics to increase in the coming weeks after Winter Break.
Flowing Wells officials say they will continue to monitor coronavirus spread before going back to hybrid learning, including viral infections in the population, percent positivity and the number of hospitalizations due to COVID-19.
During this time, the district will continue to offer on-site services for families in need, and offer free meals to students under 18 through its free meal program.
All familes are eligible to participate, and can drive through any of the following locations to pick up lunches:
* Davis, Douglas, Laguna and Hendricks Elementary Schools from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Monday to Friday.
* FW Junior High School from 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
