Man allegedly kidnaps woman from California, brings her to Gila Bend

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A man allegedly kidnapped a woman from the Long Beach, California area, took her to the Gila Bend area, where he assaulted her and threatened to kill her.

According to a report by AZ Family, the man, identified as 51-year-old Ronald Carney, offered the woman a ride and something to eat in Southern California but instead allegedly took her to Arizona, assaulted her at a Gila Bend truck stop and told her she was his slave and that he was going to kill her.

The woman was able to escape and alert another driver, who blocked Carney’s car in until authorities arrived, AZ Family reports.

Carney was arrested and charged with sexual abuse and kidnapping.
