Tucson VA starts scheduling veterans for COVID-19 vaccinations

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System started vaccinating veterans 85 and older, on Monday, Jan. 11.

According to a news release, Tucson VA is contacting veterans to schedule appointments for veterans, who are eligible, based upon the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention risk criteria.

“We’re very excited to begin the first phase of our veteran vaccinations and staff are very happy to provide these vaccinations for our patients,” said Jennifer Gutowski, SAVAHCS Director.

During the first vaccine appointment, SAVAHCS staff will schedule veterans for their second appointment, approximately 28 days after the first vaccination.
