TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The nation’s largest grocery store chain announced it will build a new fulfillment center in Phoenix, which is expected to add hundreds of jobs to the area.
Kroger, known locally as Fry’s, said the new center could create 700 jobs in the Phoenix area five years after it opens, according to a report by AZ Family. The warehouse will be outfitted with digital and robotic capabilities, making it one of the first of its kind in the country.
The exact location of the warehouse hasn’t been released, but it’s expected to be within the Phoenix city limits.
The 200,000 square foot warehouse is expected to be fully operational two years after the project breaks ground.
