TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Tucson Police Department announced the passing of recently retired and current Reserve Officer, Ruben Cajigas.
Officer Cajigas joined TPD in August of 1998, where he was assigned to patrol in Operations Division West. He was later assigned to South Division and Downtown Division. He was also a member of the Hostage Negotiator Unit.
Many remember Officer Cajigas as a School Resource Officer who mentored and helped students at Catalina High School. Once he retired in June of 2020, Officer Cajigas became a Reserve Officer.
TPD officials say Ruben was always smiling and willing to help.
