TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Tucson Police officers have arrested a man on murder charges after responding to a shooting near the University of Arizona.
On January 27, 2020, at 9:58 a.m., officers from Operations Division Midtown were dispatched on the report of an unknown trouble call at 501 N. Park Ave. Upon arrival, officers contacted 22-year-old Cesar Antonio Anaya Guitron.
While speaking with Guitron, officers obtained information that there was a shooting that took place earlier that morning in an apartment at 4880 of E. 29th Street. Officers responded to the apartment to conduct a welfare check. Once inside the apartment, officers discovered an adult male deceased with gunshot trauma. The victim’s identity has not been released pending positive identification.
Detectives with the Homicide Unit responded to continue the investigation. The scene was processed and evidence was collected. Detectives believe that the victim was living with Guitron in the apartment.
At the conclusion of investigation, Guitron was charged with 1st Degree Murder and transported to Pima County Jail.
