TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - A 74-year-old woman is behind bars for allegedly hitting her boyfriend in the head with a hammer while he slept at home.

Investigators with the Bullhead City Police Department said in a Facebook post Marilyn Ann Kepler attacked her 74-year-old boyfriend with the tool because she was upset that he left the television on and she couldn’t sleep.

After the alleged attack, the boyfriend was able to convince Kepler to drive him to a local hospital, but investigators said Kepler drove past the hospital and pulled out a gun on her boyfriend. The man was able to wrangle the gun away from Kepler and get out of the car.

Kepler drove off but bystanders saw the man and took him to the hospital, according to the department’s post.

Kepler was booked into the Mohave County Jail for aggravated assault.
