Update: Police identify man killed in midtown Tucson shooting Tuesday

TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Officers with the Tucson Police Department are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Tuesday in Tucson near midtown.

On February 23 just after 12:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the report of a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex in the 100 block of W. Delano St.

Shortly after, a report of a shooting was reported at the same location.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male with obvious signs of gunshot trauma, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

He has been identified as 31-year-old Nico Mark Santa Cruz.

According to detective interviews, Mr. Santa Cruz was involved in a domestic disturbance at the home. As the disturbance escalated, he was struck by gunfire.

Investigators were able to process the scene and recovered evidence.

Charges have not been filed at this time and there are no outstanding suspects in custody, but investigations continue.
