MESA, Ariz. (AP) - A married couple and a young woman died Monday, March 8, in an apparent murder-suicide discovered inside a Mesa home after a wounded 12-year-old girl ran to neighbor’s house for help, police said.

A police statement said responding officers found Ruben Sanchez, 51; Ana Guerra, 49, and Amy Sanchez, 18, fatally shot. The 12-year-old girl’s name was not released.

The girl suffered a gunshot wound to a wrist and remained hospitalized in stable condition, the statement said.

Detective Brandi George, a police spokeswoman, said police were trying to determine additional relationships between the victims and which person shot the others.

The responding officers found the married couple in the home’s ground floor and the 18-year-old upstairs, and a handgun and ammunition also were found, the statement said.

The investigation was in early stages, the statement said. “At this point in the investigation, this tragic incident appears to be a case of murder/suicide.
