Man arrested in homicide investigation on Tucson’s east side
TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - The Tucson Police Department have arrested a man in connection with a homicide investigation that occurred on Saturday, July 31.
According to officials, officers from Operations Division East were dispatched to the 700 block of South Mountvale Drive for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers detained multiple subjects at the residence and located a man with signs of gunshot trauma. Officers immediately began rendering aid until medics with the Tucson Fire Department arrived, according to officials. He was transported with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. He has been identified as 40-year-old Morgan Rockwell Fincher.
Through interviews, it was determined that Fincher was at the residence to speak with one of the residents, 25-year-old David Christopher Record.
According to officials, a disagreement between the two started a verbal confrontation and a gunshot was heard coming from the garage. Record was identified as the shooter. He has been booked on first degree murder, armed robbery and prohibited possessor.
